      Essential oils are those essences derived directly from plants and flowers via distillation or other organic methods.  Fragrance or perfume oils are usually synthetic - those created by chemists who have analyzed the plant or flower make-up and reproduced its fragrance properties.
       The four known procedures used in obtaining essential oils include Steam Distillation (the most common method because it produces the purest result), Cold Press (used with Citruses),  Chemical Solvent Extraction (used with botanicals whose oil droplets are too heavy to distill) and Enfluerage - the oldest known method of extraction.    READ MORE...

Ways to use essential oils...
* Inhale directly from the essential oil bottle.
* Add a few drops to a tissue or handkerchief; hold close to           your nose and inhale the scent.
* Warm in an
Aroma Lamp.
* Use a Diffuser - either simple tabletop to nebulizer.
* Add 6-12 drops to a warm tub bath, swishing around to          evenly distribute the oils.
* Soak a wash cloth in 1 qt of water to which 4-15 drops of      essential oil has been added. Wring out the cloth and apply to    affected area - use warm compress for arthritus, cramps,        muscle pain; use cold for tension, bruises, headache.
* As a Hydrosol - fill a small spray bottle with distilled water,     adding 5 to 10 drops of essential oil. Substituting rosewater for distilled water is good to try, as well.
* As a foot rub (this is great, btw), add 15 drops of oil to 1 tsp of Jojoba oil.  Massage into bottom of feet. Leave on for about 10 minutes or so. Wipe off before standing or walking... Don't forget about a full Massage! 8-12 dops of oil to 1 oz of carrier oil or lotion for best effect.
* Tent yourself with a towel over a bowl of steaming water with 4-10 drops of essential oil added. Breathe deep! (Don't let your face touch the hot water!)
